PSG star Ángel Di María praises "great friend" Lionel Messi

Argentine footballing star Ángel Di María is trying to settle in at his new club after another big money move, this time from Manchester United to France. The new PSG winger has done well in his start, scoring twice in the last three games, and already dishing out his world-famous assists.

Di María gave a cool interview to UEFA's website about his new team, his former success in the UEFA Champions League, and more. We wouldn't care too much about it, but Ángel mentioned his national team friend Lionel Messi, and that's where things get interesting. Di María was full of praise for the best player in the world, and their friendship was never in question even when they were fierce rivals for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Turns out, as we all know, Messi is a great friend, and a great guy.

"There are no words to describe Leo. The only thing I can say, leaving trophies and football aside, is that he is a great person and a great friend. And I believe that everything he's achieved, he's achieved because he enjoys it – playing the way he likes to, and showing the way he is. The way he is on the pitch is how he is off the pitch: a calm guy, a very good person. And he has very much deserved everything he has won."

That is actually one my favorite qualities about Leo: he doesn't need to be a nice guy, the thing that matters on the professional world is what he does on the field, and how good he is there. But to get all these different teammates from either Barça or the national team singing his praises, just shows you how awesome of an all-around guy Messi is.

We're lucky to have Leo on our side.
