FLORENCE, Italy – Italian Serie A club Fiorentina announced Tuesday that it has acquired Mexico international Carlos Salcedo on loan from Guadalajara with an option to purchase.

After joining Chivas from the USA’s Real Lake Salt (25 games/1 goal from 2013-14) in January 2015, the 22-year-old went on to make 49 appearances in Liga MX and was part of the side that won 2015 Copa MX Apertura and 2016 MX Supercopa titles.

Salcedo earned the first of his five caps for Mexico in a 2-0 loss at the United States on April 15, 2015. He also saw action in one match at the 2015 Copa America.

Most recently, for the Tricolor, Salcedo competed in three games at the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, scoring the fourth goal in a 5-1 win over Fiji.
