Adrien Silva remains committed to Sporting Lisbon after seeing deadline day move to Leicester City collapse

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva has reiterated his commitment to the club after seeing a move to Leicester City fall through on deadline day.

The Premier League champions had made a £21m bid for the Sporting captain, who told the Portuguese media he was looking forward to a new challenge.

However, the Primeira Liga side deny receiving any such bid and Silva's father has accused club president Bruno de Carvalho of going back on his word that he would allow his son to leave if a big offer was made.

Silva - who is currently away on international duty with Portugal - wrote on his Facebook page, that he will give his all to the club he has been with since his début in 2007. 

'I want to thank all those who support me,' Silva posted on his Facebook page.

'Winning challenges is part of the DNA of any professional and I am ready to meet those that come.

'Now I am at the service of my country and when I return back to the club for which I have always given everything from my childhood, I will have the same commitment as always with the same ambition and dedication.'
