Middle man: Jordan Henderson (right) could link up with his fellow Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard (centre)
END OF TERM REPORT: For a boy who doesn't run properly, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, he's done well to gallop into contention for a start in Brazil. His presence at the heart of Liverpool's engine-room has often been understated, although his three-match absence following his red card against Manchester City coincided with the Reds' surrendering of the title. Henderson's journey from supposed flop to one of Rodgers' reliables has been an impressive one.
GRADE: B+
IF HE WAS BRAZILIAN HE'D BE CALLED: Runaldinho
RATING FOR RIO: 7/10 – From outcast to outstanding for his club, he could start in Brazil.
KEY STAT: Had a hand in 11 goals (four goals, seven assists) in the Premier League this season for Liverpool; his most prolific return in a PL campaign.
In the running: Henderson has played his way to Brazil after a fine season with Liverpool
