Born in American Fork on April 3, 1986, Melissa’s life was one of love, family, adventure, and service.
Melissa met her soulmate, Errol Flynn, during high school, and their love story blossomed into a lifelong partnership. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple shortly after they turned 19.
Melissa pursued her passion for beauty and aesthetics, earning her cosmetology license and enhancing lives by making people feel beautiful. Her adventurous spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a flight attendant, allowing her and Errol to explore the globe for a decade. Their adventures eventually started a new chapter with the welcoming of their children into the world.
Melissa’s life was rich with passions and hobbies that ranged from travel to culinary arts, fitness, and yoga. She had a profound love for the ocean, boating and embraced every opportunity to be near the water. An avid reader and enthusiast of World War II history, Melissa’s curiosity and zeal for learning were contagious.
In her professional life, Melissa was known for her dedication, attention to detail, and care in the beauty and travel industries, where she left a permanent mark over 14 years.
Melissa leaves behind a loving family whom she was passionate about: her husband Errol; children Holland (7), Lincoln (6), Theodore (4), and Navy (2); her parents, Diane and Doug Pope; siblings Ben (Tabby), Ryan, Janice (Lane) Morrison, Sara (Miles) Richards, Preston (Ashley), and Erica; in-laws John and Pamela Flynn; and siblings-in-law Eowyn, John, and Connor (Rachel) Flynn.
