Adnan Januzaj loaned to Sunderland if Pedro moves to Manchester United?

As always, Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to all the latest rumours and gossip. See all the latest deals here.

TOP STORY: Pedro in, Januzaj out?

Plenty of Manchester United players have made the move from Old Trafford to Sunderland in recent years, and Adnan Januzaj could be the next to savour the delights of the Stadium of Light.

The Daily Star reports that Januzaj is a target for Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat, who has spoken to Louis van Gaal about taking the Belgian forward on loan for the 2015-16 campaign should United sign Pedro from Barcelona.

But the deal may have to wait with the Daily Express reporting that Van Gaal will delay the 20-year-old's temporary move for a number of reasons: the Dutch coach must wait for Barca to sanction Pedro's move, while Van Gaal has Champions League playoff games to plan for as well as seeing how the new signings settle before sanctioning Januzaj's exit.

Meanwhile, Angel Di Maria has completed his €63 million (£44m) move to Paris Saint-Germain after signing a four-year contract with the French champions.

PAPER ROUND

Spurs close on forwards

Tottenham will probably need more than Harry Kane to fire them to Champions League qualification this season, and Daniel Levy is on the case.

The Mirror reports that Spurs are planning a bid for QPR striker Charlie Austin, and Levy is confident that a £15m fee will edge out rivals Newcastle, Leicester and West Ham, while a possible loan offering could sweeten the deal for the Loftus Road club to let their star striker go.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggests that Tottenham are also leading the race for young Colombian Jeison Lucumi -- the 20-year-old starred at this summer's South American Youth Championship, and Mauricio Pochettino's side are reportedly in pole position to sign the winger ahead of PSV Eindhoven and Atletico Madrid.

City confident on De Bruyne

Another day, and another Kevin De Bruyne update for you lucky people. Wolfsburg have publicly denied that the Belgium international is leaving the Volkswagen Arena this summer, but the Guardian reports that Manchester City are increasingly confident of landing the playmaker.

The paper states that De Bruyne is expected to be City's final purchase of the summer, and will likely cost £45m-48m. The Guardian reports that after signing De Bruyne, "City will end their transfer business unless an exceptional player becomes available."

Given that the club would have spent the best part of £90m on De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling this summer, Transfer Talk wonders just what exactly qualifies for "an exceptional player" these days...

Depay ready for No.7

With Angel Di Maria slinking off to Paris Saint-Germain, the fabled No.7 jersey is up for grabs once again at Manchester United. David Beckham has "auditioned" for the role he played so well during the 1990s, but the Daily Telegraph reports that Memphis Depay has asked Louis van Gaal for the responsibility.

Clubs have to submit their squad numbers by midday on Friday, and though Di Maria is still yet to officially complete his PSG move, Depay has his eyes on jersey number that the Argentine midfielder failed to live up to at Old Trafford.

One player unlikely to get a shirt number at all is Victor Valdes -- the Spanish goalkeeper has been told be Van Gaal that he will be leaving United after allegedly refusing to play in reserve games last season, and the Manchester Evening News reports that Valdes was absent as United players modeled their new Adidas kits at the Carrington training complex on Wednesday.

Wilshere woe for Arsenal

Everything has been going so well for Arsenal this summer -- a little too well for most Gunners fans, as if the off-season has merely been the calm before the storm.

But the clouds are now rolling in, with the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail reporting that Jack Wilshere's ankle injury is more serious than first thought after scans indicated a hairline fracture to the England midfielder's left ankle.

The injury could keep Wilshere out for between six to eight weeks, which may tempt Arsene Wenger into adding cover in midfield before the transfer window closes -- Kim Kallstrom, anyone?

Regardless of whether the Gunners actually need the cover given their embarrassment of riches in midfield, many fans will begin to wonder whether Wenger should cut his losses and begin to scout for a full-time replacement for the injury-plagued Wilshere.

Juve close on Draxler

Players are dropping like flies in Turin, so it's understandable that Juventus are keen to make new additions before the season starts.

The Serie A champions have been heavily linked with Julian Draxler in recent weeks, and Italian daily Corriere dello Sport reports that Bianconeri CEO Giuseppe Marotta will pressure Schalke into letting the young forward move to Italy.

That could in turn raise Schalke's asking price, but Juve are rapidly approaching a situation whereby they'll gladly pay over the odds in order to field a fully fit XI for the defence of their title.
