Dundee United will have to wait a little longer to throw Eiji Kawashima into action despite making progress on the Japanese goalkeeper's work-permit bid.
The 32-year-old has been given the seal of approval from Home Office and Scottish Football Association chiefs but is now waiting for the paperwork to be completed, ruling him out of Saturday's Ladbrokes Premiership visit of Partick.
Long-term absentees Darko Bodul (groin), Paul Paton (knee) and Ryan Dow (groin) remain sidelined.
Provisional squad: Zwick, McGowan, Dixon, Durnan, Dillon, Gunning, Donaldson, J Souttar, Rankin, Demel, Telfer, Spittal, Fraser, Connolly, Spark, Murray, Sinama Pongolle, Erskine, Taggart, McKay, Kuhl, H Souttar, Morris, Robson, Szromnik.
