Veloso signs on

Sporting defender Miguel Veloso has signed a bumper five year extension to his contract tying him down at Lisbon until 2013. The Under 21 international had been linked with a move away from the club but expressed his delight to commit himself for the fors

"I am happy at Sporting but it is normal that I should also dream of playing with a big club in the future," he decleared.

The player had been subject to interest from Spain and England but joins team-mate Yannick Djalo in signing.

Sporting are still trying to conclude deals to tie-down Moutinho and Manchester United target Nani.
