Torino president: 'Alessio Cerci was an idiot'

Torino president Urbano Cairo told Alessio Cerci he was “an idiot” for leaving them to join Atletico Madrid.

The winger struggled for playing time in Spain and has since moved on an 18-month loan to Milan.
He was on the bench at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin for Saturday’s 1-1 draw and Cairo revealed a behind-the-scenes incident.
“Cerci came to say hello to everyone in the locker room after the game and I told him: ‘Dear Alessio, you’re an idiot. You should never have left Torino.’
“He said I was right. We were joking, but not that much...” Cairo told Mediaset Premium.
“Toro dominated even before Milan went down to 10 men. We were unlucky, as in the second half Milan never got past midfield.
“Torino created so many chances and we have a ‘hitman’ like Glik who now deserves a special reward.”
Defender Glik is the Granata’s top scorer this season with five goals.
