It has been suggested that Mandzukic may be open to a move due to the fierce competition for places at the Bundesliga champions, with Robert Lewandowski's imminent arrival as a free agent set to bolster their ranks further.

Bayern insist they have no intention of offloading Mandzukic, with chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hoping this season's top marksman can be persuaded to snub interest from afar and pen fresh terms further down the line.

He told Welt am Sonntag: "Mario Mandzukic is under contract with our club.

"I am definitely aware that many clubs have started to show an interest in Mario's services, but I believe he will be with our club way beyond the end of this season."
