Jabuticaba elected second best fruit in the world at online travel guide for traditional food

Jabuticaba is the edible fruit of the Brazilian grapetree. The purplish-black, white-pulped fruit can be eaten raw or used to make jellies, jams, juice and wine. The fruit now has gained international recognition, being voted the second best fruit on the planet in a ranking on the TasteAtlas website.

Surpassing popular fruit varieties, such as strawberries and oranges, Brazilian jabuticaba was the best placed Brazilian fruit on the list, with a rating of 4.7 stars out of a possible 5. Despite the high evaluation, jabuticaba was not able to surpass mangosteen (of Asian origin) in the site's ranking, which was ahead by a small margin among user evaluations.
