‘My head is on Monaco now’ – Keita Balde rules out January exit

Keita Balde has stated that he is focused on playing for Monaco despite transfer links from top European clubs.

The 22-year-old joined the Stade Louis II outfit from Lazio last summer and has garnered six goals in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.

Balde disclosed that is aware of interests from Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus - with Liverpool and Arsenal also reportedly interested in acquiring his services - but he remains concentrated on representing Leonardo Jardim’s team.

“Yes, I’ve seen it everywhere,” Keita told Canal Football.

“But my head is on Monaco now, not another team. Did I have other options? Juventus called me a few times, Inter… A lot of teams called me.

“Last year I watched a lot of the French league, and Monaco in particular. They’d been calling me to come here for years.

“Everyone knows Monaco is a great club, last year they won the league and reached the Champions League semi-finals.”

Monaco are placed fourth in the French Ligue 1 table with 47 points from 23 games this campaign.
