Sergio Aguero's debut for Argentina - Who were his teammates and where are they now?

Former Manchester City and Argentina star Sergio Aguero announced a tearful retirement from professional football on Wednesday, a decision that had to be taken due to a heart condition.

The forward had only moved to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2021, ending a 10-year long relationship with Manchester City. Aguero appeared in only four league games for the Catalan club this season before he was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia in October 2021.

Along with an illustrious club career where he scripted a number of records especially for Man City, Aguero enjoyed a very successful international career as well. He played for 15 years and appeared in 101 matches for Argentina where he scored 42 goals. He won Copa America in 2021 and a gold medal in Olympic football in Beijing 2008.

The Man City legend made his international debut on September 3, 2006, against arch-rivals Brazil in an international friendly at the Wembley Stadium in London. Brazil won the tie 3-0.
