South Korea made their World Cup debut in 1954 and have qualified for every edition since 1986, with their best-ever finish coming in 2002 when they reached the semi-finals.
In 2018, they made an early exit from the competition after crashing out from the group stages.
Can they do better this time around?
They have qualified from Group H alongside Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. They started the tournament with a goalless draw against Uruguay before narrowly losing to Cameroon but they pipped Portugal 2-1 in the final game to book their knockout berth.
Paulo Bento will hope that his squad can cause a couple more upsets in the knockouts.
