Australia's Asian Cup defence got off to the worst possible start with a 1-0 defeat to Jordan in Al Ain on Sunday night.
The Socceroos dominated possession and territorial advantage but failed to create many opportunities as Anas Bani Yassen's 26th minute header won the match for the Chivalrous.
