The Peruvian national team is close to achieving the goal of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In fact, she was able to secure the quota for the repechage by finishing fifth in the South American Qualifiers thanks to the victory on the last date against Paraguay in Lima. In that sense, taking into account what is coming, he knows where the 'bicolor' would concentrate for this crucial meeting before the representative of Asia.

According to journalist Gustavo Peralta, the city of Barcelona, Spain would be the first choice for the FPF. The reason? The logistical issue is fundamental because it would be a more neutral meeting point between those who play in Peru and those who work in Europe and the Middle East. The possibility of avoiding enormous physical wear and tear on flights would make this option quite feasible.

Another city that would also be analyzed as an alternative is Murcia, almost southeast of Spain and with an almost similar distance that would adapt the Peruvian cast so that it does not cross the time change or with a sudden adaptation to the heat for that area of the planet. This is because in Europe and Asia during those months the summer season develops. Now, bridging the distance, in Qatar the temperature hovers between 30 and 40 degrees, so a stay in the Old Continent would shorten that change in climate.

As for the dates, according to the information provided by Peralta in 'Campeonísimo', the 'white-roja' would have planned to arrive on May 30 to Spanish lands, whatever city is chosen. The stay would be approximately 8 or 9 days for them to travel to Doha on June 9 or 10 to compete in the match that will take place on June 13.

Players such as Renato Tapia (Celta from Vigo from Spain), Miguel Trauco (Saint-Etienne of France), Christian Cueva (Al-Fateh of Saudi Arabia), André Carrillo (Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia), Wilder Cartagena (Al-Ittihad Kalba of the United Arab Emirates) and those of the MLS would be favored by this decision to concentrate on Europe, as they would avoid a long trip to Peru and then another to Qatar with a previous stopover.

POSSIBLE CASUALTY FOR THE REPECHAGE

Despite the fact that this decisive match is still a few months away, André Carrillo would be the first casualty for Ricardo Gareca. And the fact is that the national winger suffered a serious knee injury, so, according to his club Al-Hilal, he will miss what is left of the season that ends in May. A sprain in the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee would marginalize him from the duel of the repechage.

“Press reports confirm that the Peruvian striker underwent medical examinations that showed the following: he needs a treatment period of not less than two months, which means the end of his season, AD Sports reported on the situation of the 'Culebra'. This would make it very fair or even in full recovery. In that case, it is better to wait for its evolution in these months to determine exactly whether it arrives or not.

RIVAL OF THE REPECHAGE

Between Australia and the United Arab Emirates, Peru's rival will be known in the repechage in a single match to be played on June 7. Both teams finished third in their groups in the Asian Qualifiers. While the 'Socceroos' scored 15 points in group B and will try to reach their sixth World Cup, the Emiratis reached 12 points and will seek to qualify for their second World Cup after the 1990 edition of Italy.
