Friendship never ends — at least, not this one. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions, the band posted an adorable video montage on X (formerly known as Twitter). The montage shows the Girls rehearsing and practicing together at various moments: dancing, laughing, smiling, and kidding around the entire time.

It’s a fun “girl power” blast from the past, to be sure (as well as a reminder of how very ‘90s the ‘90s fashion really was then).

The five women (Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel B., Melanie C., and Emma Bunton) are reportedly friends to this day. In 2023, Mel B told The Sun that they are still close, despite rumors to the contrary when Victoria failed to join the group for their 2019 stadium tour: “It’s not like none of us are speaking together. We've all got a group WhatsApp, but it's just about timing. [Victoria] was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she's got a bunch of kids so it's just about finding the right time.”

It’s unclear where or when the Girls may be performing next; as Mel B told The Sun: “We do want to get back on stage - everything is up in the air.” She also spoke out about it as recently as December, saying she “hoped” the group would reunite in 2024: "I've been saying that every year. So let's hope."

The massive ‘90s girl group split in 2000 and each member moved on to do their own thing. Victoria famously pivoted to fashion design; Halliwell (now Horner) is a writer and actress; Mel B has pursued a solo singing career, as well as being a TV talent-show judge; Melanie C is a singer and DJ; and Emma is a media personality and actress.
