Enrique Gomez

Black Belt (1st Degree)

Professor Enrique has over 20 years of martial arts training. He has worked diligently on his knowledge, understanding and application of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) for the last 15 years. He has worked under Professor Eduardo Santos (fourth degree black belt) since the beginning of his transition to BJJ from striking and other grappling arts, namely Arnis (also known as Kali or Eskrima, the national sport and martial art of the Philippines),  and Vee Jitsu (Vee Arnis Jitsu) which all are all encompassing martial art systems that quickly and effectively builds the student’s self-defense capacity.

As a young person Prof. Enrique was mentored by the family doctor, who recognized his insatiable appetite for biology and curiosity for understanding pathology.  During these crucial years of development a solid foundation in biology and disease was attained. With such, the need to find natural solutions drove his studies towards nutrition, metabolism and the many ways that human systems can attain greater balance by optimizing their diet and exercising practices.

Prof. Enrique is a trained scientist and has contributed to the fields of immunology and bone research. Along with his formal training in the sciences he has incorporated his skills into the world of sports science and specifically the bio-mechanics of BJJ. His graduate studies focused on the microbiome and the many components of bone development and pathology.

Enrique invites everyone to enjoy a class with him and students at his family oriented Jiu Jitsu studio. He also welcomes everyone to contact him for private classes, BJJ mental coaching, seminars and workshops. He specifically enjoys working with teachers, first responders, trainers and counselors who focus their work around underprivileged youth.

We have a very positive environment and are very welcoming to all Jiu Jitsu practitioners as well as novice students to the gentle art. In addition to having a solid Jiu Jitsu program we strive to change lives for the better.
