Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez has become an essential player for coach Zinedine Zidane. The attacker has earned a spot in the starting lineup because both him and Asensio “deserve it”, according to the French coach. Unlike some of his past teammates, Vazquez is happy with his current role and doesn’t want to leave the club.

“I’m very happy at Real Madrid, this is the team that made me the player I am today and I hope I can stay here for many years. I’m playing the best football since I arrived at Madrid and I’m contributing to the team while also getting good results,” said Vazquez in an interview with Onda Cero.

Vazquez isn’t worried about Madrid trying to upgrade their offensive line next summer and will accept his role.

“This is Real Madrid and we know that this club will always sign the greatest players and nobody will make things easy for you,” said Zidane.

Onda Cero asked him about Morata’s decision to leave the club and join Chelsea when they had similar roles.

“You just have to respect the choice he made, everybody’s have a different perspective and preferences,” said Vazquez, who also said that Juventus will be a “tough” opponent because of their “experience.”
