First Half begins.
Packed stadium tonight! Mexican fans seem to have forgotten CONCACAF Nations League debacle.
Apparently, the pitch at NRG Stadium is extremely dry. Should make for fast play and also some chaos. Let's see if they decide to turn on the sprinklers for Mexico and Honduras.
Minnesota United's Joseph Rosales is in the starting lineup for Honduras. The MLS player knows NRG Stadium well from his playing time with the Loons.
NRG Stadium is getting packed for the game. Big Mexican and Honduran population in the city, and it shows.
Honduras forward Alberth Elis is pumped to be back in Houston. He says his family still lives in the city.

The Mexico national team is coming off a disappointing third-place finish in the CONCACAF Nations League. Diego Cocca was fired as head coach shortly after and replaced by Jaime Lozano, who has already managed El Tri in the past.
Lozano, 44, led Mexico to a bronze medal finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, but did not receive the opportunity to continue working as head coach.
He will once again need to prove his worth and can do so by leading Mexico to its first Gold Cup trophy since 2019. His squad features some faces that were not at the Nations League, such as forwards Diego Lainez and Santiago Gimenez coming off the bench.
Guillermo Ochoa will once again be the team's goalkeeper, while Luis Chavez is sure to lead the attack with his speed and versatility.
Henry Martin will be up front to finish the opportunities of a much tougher Mexico team than what was fielded at the Nations League.
Honduras, meanwhile, is playing with plenty of young players and are the clear underdogs. They can pull off an upset with physicality on defense and by taking advantage of counter attacks.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 pm ET from NRG Stadium in Houston. The national broadcast is: Fox Sports 1 and TUDN USA.
