'El Trafico' in MLS did not disappoint as Los Angeles FC went on to a narrow 3-2 victory over their rivals LA Galaxy.

Carlos Vela was the star of the show, netting a brace that led his team to victory over their Los Angeles counterparts.

The Mexican forward went head-to-head with his good friend Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez and took to social media to brag about his team's triumph at the Dignity Health Sports Park.

"Finally, we finally won here, it's about time. We proved that we are the best in LA. Take care," stated Carlos Vela in a video posted to LAFC's social media accounts.

The Mexican striker scored two goals and provided an assist to lead his team to victory and, in the process, became the top scorer in 'El Trafico' with 10 goals, one more than Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Until this Sunday, LAFC had registered six losses and two draws in their derby duels at LA Galaxy's home since joining as an MLS expansion team in 2018.

Vela recalled that whenever they visited the Dignity Health Sports Park "something crazy happened," but they were finally able to show them who's boss in Los Angeles.

"It feels great. I feel like we showed many times that we're better than them, but for some reason anytime we play here it's a crazy start," Vela said.

"After this one, I hope we win more often here and show every time that we play LA Galaxy that we're the team of this city."

Galaxy fans miss a great game

Due to a boycott against the management, many LA Galaxy fans decided not to attend the Dignity Health Sports Park and consequently missed an intense clash.

Galaxy arguably put in one of their best performances of the season so far despite Riqui Puig's attempt that hit the post and Chicharito Hernandez's one-on-one blunder with goalkeeper John McCarthy.
