PSG will face a very different scenario in the new season than in recent years: playing without Kylian Mbappe and his decision to leave the club will lead to a deeper restructuring than simply replacing one player with another.

The Parisian club will try to sign several players to reinforce the squad in a more global way, that is to say, it will not be limited only to strengthen the attacking area to make up for the absence of Mbappe. PSG will sign an attacker in the next market, perhaps two, but will go further and also shore up both the midfield and the defense.

PSG had long been pessimistic and was already working on a scenario without Mbappe.

It was just waiting for him to communicate his decision: either announce that he is leaving or accept the renewal offer. The club now feels that this departure is part of the club's new policy of prioritizing the team over the stars.

Kylian's departure in any case leaves a gap to fill. In Paris they believe in players like Zaire-Emery to fill the void of franchise player of the house, and to a lesser extent Barcola. They are also already thinking about the return of Xavi Simons, now at RB Leipzig.

Reinforcements in attack

But beyond the possible return of Simons, according to L'Equipe, as of today, the best-placed striker on PSG's agenda is Victor Osimhen, who has a contract with Napoli until 2026.

However, the French side will come up against an Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the Italian club, with whom negotiations are always complicated and with the competition of some Premier League teams who are also interested in the attacker. In addition to the Nigerian, who Luis Campos has already brought to Lille, they also have in mind the name of Mohamed Salah of Liverpool. And Rafael Leao, from AC Milan.

In that idea of reinforcing more lines in addition to the forward line, one of PSG's old desires is Bernardo Silva, who extended his contract with Manchester City until 2026 last summer, a few months in which his name was already linked with the Parisian team. Joshua Kimmich, according to L'Equipe, could be another option.

In fact, PSG already considered that possibility in the last winter market. Another of those mentioned in the French newspaper is Gavi, Barcelona midfielder.

As for the defense, Leny Yoro, an 18-year-old center-back from Lille who has already been approached by Real Madrid's sporting management, is one of the players who could reinforce PSG's backline. The defender is valued at around 60 million euros.
