Zurich will be the focus of Real Madrid's fans and officials on Wednesday when the draw for the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup takes place at 11:00 CET.
Held in Osaka and Yokohama - although Los Blancos are guaranteed to only play in the latter venue - eight teams will ascend on Japan for ten days of intercontinental action.
Although Madrid are already confirmed to be joining the tournament at the final-four stage, along with Copa Libertadores winners Atletico Nacional of Colombia, the draw will help determine who will come across the European champions in their December 15 semi-final.
Already qualified are Auckland City, winners of the 2016 OFC Champions League, and the New Zealanders will face the J-League title holders in a preliminary round that won't be confirmed until December.
That match will provide one of the four quarter-finalists, which includes Mexican club America, although the African and Asian competitors are yet to be decided. Not until November and October will those respective Champions League winners be crowned.
From there, the two winners will slot into face Real and Nacional, but neither the host club or Auckland will face Madrid, however, as they're on the other-half of the draw.
Los Merengues have won the tournament in 1960, 1998, 2002, and 2014, and will be keen to avoid a repeat of 1966 and 2000, where South American sides beat Real in the final.
