The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) for 2024 are almost here. The awards relate to film and TV productions from the year 2023 but who is expected to win and who is nominated for one of the most reputable prizes in the industries?
In the film category, Barbie and Oppenheimer are expected to, once again, continue their duel for supremacy that has been raging since they released are practically the same time last summer.
Meanwhile, Killers of the Flower Moon, the Martin Scorsese documentary-drama film, is their likely next-best challenger and could steal some of the limelight for a brief moment. Overall, Barbie is expected to have the edge in nominations with record-matching five, whilst Oppenheimer and KOTFM have four each.
Expect Margot Robbie (best lead actress), Cillian Murphy (best lead actor), and Emily Blunt (best supporting actress) can be expected to win their categories whilst Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Gosling, will battle it out for best supporting actor after delivering fine performances each.

Television
On the television front, the final season of Succession can be expected to sweep based on previous awards ceremonies whilst The Last of Us and The Bear might snag the occasional trophy to take home. It will be another box office year for HBO.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey could challenge Succession for best lead actor and actress but for any collective show awards, the dystopian "zombie" series isn't likely to put up much of a fight.
