Rowland-Woody Wedding

Theresa Lynn Woody became the bride of Dr. Paul Edward Rowland, both of West Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, May 26 at First Federated Church of Des Moines. The Rev. Thomas Allen performed the 6:00 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Kathleen Woody of Des Moines and Lawrence Woody of Reasoner, Iowa, and Virginia Rowland of Minonk, and Jean Rowland of Roanoke.

The bride's gown was of white chiffonette with a Victorian neckline. The Ren-aissance sleeves were chiffonette with Venise lace. Venise lace also created accents, dotted by pearls,on the bodice. Schiffli lace created the finishing touches adorning the yoke. The cathedral train fell from a softly sculptured waistline. The brides cathedral veil was trimmed in Schiffli lace and her cascade bouquet was of coral roses, white carnations and stephanotis.
Andrea Woody of Des Moines, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of chiffon in melon, featuring a cape. Bridesmaids wore identical attire to the maid of honor. Each bridesmaid carried a single white rose. Bridesmaids were Linda Kenney of Dekalb, IL, Julie Engle of Minneapolis, MN and Karen Jones of Des Moines.

Best man was Dr. Craig Bartosof Olafin, IL. Grooms-men were Tom Schoen of Peoria, and John Whitcomb of Minonk, IL and Mark Morse of Flint, Ml.

Ushers were the bride's three brothers, Paul, Scott and Brad Woody of the Des Moines area.

Holly Jones was flower girl, wearing a long white chiffon gown with melon trim and ribbons. Her brother, Joshua Jones, was ring bearer.

The brides mother wore a long gown of melon with lace trim and the groom's mother wore a long spring green chiffon gown with lace jacket. Their corsages were white roses.

Special guest, attending from Glendale, Arizona, was the brides grandmother, Tressa Schultze.

Soloists were Brad Lundy and Carla LeFerre of Iowa City, Iowa. Organist was Dan Hanze.

The bride is a graduate of Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and the University of Iowa. She is employed as a registered nurse in I.C.U. at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois Medical School of Peoria. He is in his fourth year as general surgical resident at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

Following a Florida wedding trip, they will be at home in Des Moines.
