Euro 2004 winners Greece have named misfit Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou in their provisional 29-man squad for this summer's World Cup.

Mitroglou joined the Cottagers in the January transfer window for £12million after 18 months of stunning form with Greek club Olympiacos.

However, he has played just 153 minutes since then, as Fulham have slumped to relegation, with a knee injury having hindered the 25-year-old.

Nonetheless, his form in the second-half of 2013 for his country - scoring six goals in his last seven international matches - means he will likely lead the line for Fernando Santos' side, provided he can prove his fitness.

Mitroglou's Fulham teammate Giorgos Karagounis will captain the side, while Celtic's Giorgos Samaras has also been included.
