Red Bull Arena to Host Ecuador-El Salvador Friendly on June 13th

The home of the Red Bulls has become quite a popular destination this year.

This time next month MLS will be taking time off for international break. During that time, the Red Bulls will presumably be resting up before the second half of the season - but Red Bull Arena will still be open for business and hosting another international exhibition.

On Friday, the team announced that Red Bull Arena will be hosting a friendly between the national teams of Ecuador and El Salvador on June 13, 2017.

Ecuador will be preparing for their final stretch of World Cup qualifying matches later this summer while El Salvador will be readying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup several weeks later.

Both teams have played multiple times at Red Bull Arena in friendlies, and previously played each other in back in 2014, with La Tricolor coasting to a 5-1 victory over El Salvador.

As of writing, Ecuador is the 25th ranked team in the world - just two spots below the United States - and features several Premier League superstars on the roster: Manchester United's Antonio Valencia, Swansea City's Jefferson Montero and Everton's Enner Valencia.

El Salvador, on the other hand, aren't exactly world-beaters. They rank 107th in FIFA and haven't qualified for the World Cup since 1982. Some of the players on the team may be familiar to diehard Red Bulls fans though as a number of them played for Alianza FC - who the Red Bulls played twice in the CONCACAF Champions League group stage last season. Oscar Arroyo, Alexander Larin, Oscar Ceren, Herbert Sosa, and Rodolfo Zelaya all played in the two matches the club played against each other last season.

Red Bull Arena is going to be busy this summer: the stadium will host an international rugby match between the USA and Ireland on June 10; Ecuador and El Salvador on June 13; the two opening matches of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup on July 7; an International Champions Cup match between Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma on July 25.

Rumors have also circulated that Red Bull Arena will host a World Cup qualifying match between the USMNT and Costa Rica in September.
