Sidney Crosby collected a goal and an assist on Satirday night to climb another rung on the list of the National Hockey League’s all-time scorers.

The Pittsburgh Penguins superstar moved ahead of Chicago Blackhawks legend Stan Mikita for 15th overall with 1,469 points. Crosby has 541 goals and 928 assists for 1,469 points.   Mikita’s career totals are 541 goals and 926 assists. Crosby has played in 239 less games than Mikita.

Crosby assisted on a first-period goal by Evgeni Malkin in a 6-4  loss to the San Jose Sharks to claim the 15th spot.

Crosby can pass Mikita when the Penguins host the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

Crosby will probably have to wait until next season to move any higher on the all-time scoring list with Paul Coffey of Edmonton Oilers’ fame 64 points ahead in 14th spot at 1,531 points.
