Sven Kramer is sorry.

The Dutch speedskater will apologize and give a small present to a worker he shoved aside and shouted at following his disqualification from the 10,000-meter race he was on the way to winning.

Kramer’s coach said Wednesday the speedskater was angry after learning what took place. Kramer was disqualified Tuesday after following his coach’s incorrect instructions during a lane changeover.

Coach Gerard Kemkers says he hopes people would be understanding about Kramer’s conduct given the circumstances. Still, the coach acknowledges that what happened was not right.
