An unique Ampule Opener: new development for Medical Safety

Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology is, one of the NTUST TVE league schools, famous for nursing new professionals and force into medical care system and bio/medicine industry. Based on field practice and experiences, there are four outstanding students of Tzu Chi invented an unique Ampule Opener to solve the current problem in using the glass ampules bottles at hospitals and medical clinics.

As made of glass, to open an ampule bottle with bare hands will normally occure injure(s) by its sharp edges of the bottle neck.  In addition, ampules are available in vary sizes to contain liquid capacity from 1ml to 20ml; this results in different lengthes of the ampules' bottle neck.

The innovative Ampule Opener is specially designed to fit and hold all length of the ampules' neck to open. The Ampule Opener is consist of a V-shape compressing clips (holder) with anti-slipping nodes and inner pad; these help the opener to firmly hold and snap down to open all sizes of Ampules without cutting the skin or fingers of the operators.

The Ampule Opener is developped for the safety concerns on all medical-care professionals, including nurses. 

NTUST is the regional industry-University Cooperation Center that has 21 TVE (Technical Vocational Education) schools. With development force and resources of the TVE league, the center can coordinate and help industrial and commercial enterprises to R&D products from Taiwan with cutting-edge technologies and trends from time to time.
