Argentina striker Sergio Aguero insists Germany are the favourites to win Sunday's World Cup final and all the pressure is on Joachim Low's side.

Argentina take on Germany in Sunday's showpiece at the Maracana in a repeat of the 1986 and 1990 finals.

While Alejandro Sabella's side have yet to fall behind in the tournament and are playing in their native South America, Aguero believes Germany, who destroyed hosts Brazil 7-1 in the semi-finals, are rightful favourites.

However, the Manchester City striker believes his country will do whatever is necessary to prevail.

We need to play our own game and it suits us that all the pressure is on them.

He said: "Germany were always the favourites, along with Brazil, to win the World Cup. They continue to be so now.

"We need to play our own game and it suits us that all the pressure is on them.

"We are in the final and we have to play it and win it in whatever way possible."

The striker is returning from injury, being used as a substitute in Wednesday's penalty shoot-out win against Holland, in which he scored, and he is delighted to be back on the pitch.

"When you come back from an injury, it is always in the back of your mind whether it will return," he said.

"I had to train and try to be as good as I could be. When you miss three games, especially in a World Cup, you realise what you are missing."
