The 23 year-old Peruvian has been called back up to the Peru National team. The last time Polo was with the squad was when they beat New Zealand to head to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years. He’ll be joining his countrymen, Orlando City’s Yoshi Yotun and Vancouver Whitecaps forward Yordy Reyna.

He’s not guaranteed a spot on Peru’s World Cup roster, but will work to earn that honor as they tune up with a couple of friendlies. First they’ll be facing Croatia on March 23rd and then Iceland on the 27th, meaning he will only be gone for the Timbers’ match at FC Dallas on March 24th.

Coming into the friendlies, Polo has been capped 15 times.

He’s scored one senior goal and was a part of the Peru squad that beat New Zealand to get their birth to the World Cup. Andy made his senior team debut in 2016. Of course, if he does end up making the World Cup roster, PTFC will be without him this summer.
