Cameroon 1 Brazil 0 LIVE RESULT: Goal scorer Aboubakar SENT OFF for celebration as Cameroon OUT of World Cup despite win

CAMEROON are OUT of the World Cup despite an incredible victory against Brazil.

Bryan Mbeumo saw a first-half header was kept out by a fantastic save from Ederson.

But it was Vincent Aboubakar who opened the scoring, heading his side into the lead before being handed a second yellow card and being SENT OFF after taking his top off to celebrate.

However, the African side are out despite winning as Switzerland came out victorious against Serbia in the other match in Group G.

  • Indomitable Lions hungry for success

While they will no doubt be underdogs this evening, Song will be hoping his side may be able to capitalise on playing a Brazil team not as strong as it could be.

All of this against a team who have yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

  • Most insane bench in world football

With Brazil having already qualified for the knockout rounds, Tite decides to take the opportunity to rest nine players from the last game.

  • Familiar foes meet again

Brazil have won both previous World Cup games between themselves and Cameroon - 3-0 in 1994 and 4-1 in 2014.

They have won all seven of their FIFA World Cup matches against African sides, scoring 20 goals and conceding just twice.

A defeat or draw for Cameroon will see them eliminated from the group stage of the World Cup in their sixth successive appearance at the finals, last reaching the knockout rounds in 1990.

They've never won their final group stage game in seven previous appearances at the World Cup (D2 L5).

  • Song's comeback kings

Vincent Aboubakar scored a sublime chip in the game against Serbia before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting added another in quick succession in the second half.

This ensured that Cameroon had something to play for today, showing the determination that will be required if they are to get anything against one of the tournament favourites.

Big games, require big game players.
