Barcelona ‘willing to take 86 PER CENT loss on Philippe Coutinho with AC Milan keen on cut-price transfer’

BARCELONA are willing to sell Philippe Coutinho for as little as £20million and take an 86 PER CENT loss, according to reports.

The 29-year-old has struggled at the Nou Camp since his reported £142m move from Liverpool in January 2018.

According to Football Espana, Barcelona are wanting to get Coutinho off their wage bill and will accept just £20m for the Brazil international.

The ex-Liverpool playmaker isn't believed to be part of Barca manager Ronald Koeman's plans after making just 12 LaLiga appearances last term.

Coutinho reportedly earns around £140,000-a-week at the Nou Camp and still has two years remaining on his existing deal.

Rumours suggest his agent Kia Joorabchian is offering the player to clubs competing in European football - and Mundo Deportivo claim AC Milan are interested.

The Serie A giants recently lost playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu to rivals Inter Milan on a free transfer and are believed to be considering replacing him with Coutinho.

The Barcelona star played 27 games in all competitions for Inter before moving to Anfield in January 2013.

Everton star James Rodriguez is also believed to have been identified by Milan as a potential replacement for Calhanoglu.

Coutinho has managed just 64 LaLiga appearances since joining Barcelona three-and-a-half years ago, spending the 2019-20 season on loan at Bayern Munich.

Despite his lack of minutes and form, the midfielder has won the Bundesliga, Champions League and LaLiga twice since leaving Liverpool.

Coutinho has also been linked with Premier League side Leicester, who are coached by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.

And rumours suggest he 'dreams' about returning to Anfield but manager Jurgen Klopp isn't believed to be interested in re-signing the player.

Coutinho's future will depend on a knee injury he suffered in December 2020 as he's not played since, missing Brazil's 2021 Copa America campaign.
