Brazil finalises 23-man World Cup squad early; Alex Sandro misses out
Brazil manager Tite isn't wasting any time.
Though national teams had until June 4 to name their final World Cup squad, Tite's already decided on his 23-man team. Juventus full-back Alex Sandro is arguably the list's most notable omission, as he was pipped by Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis for the reserve left-back spot behind Marcelo.
The full squad is below, broken down by position:
GK: Alisson (Roma), Ederson (Manchester City), Cassio (Corinthians)
DF: Danilo (Manchester City), Fagner (Corinthians), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Miranda (Inter), Pedro Geromel (Gremio)
MF: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Paulinho (Barcelona), Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Phillipe Coutinho (Barcelona), Willian (Chelsea)
FW: Douglas Costa (Juventus), Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
