Italy put their game in Lichtenstein to bed in the first half with goals from Ciro Immobile, Antonio Candreva and an Andrea Belotti double.

But the craziest game in the group was in Albania. The home side had two players sent off and conceded two penalties. Erin Zahavi scored one for Israel but missed the other. However it didn't matter as the Israelis ran out 3-0 winners.

Croatia picked up a hugely encouraging 2-0 Group I win over Iceland without any fans.

They are playing behind closed doors because of crowd trouble but two goals from Marcelo Brozovic were the difference against the surprise side of Euro 2016.

However Ivan Perisic put a dampener on things with a last minute red card.

Georgia and Moldova drew 1-1 in the other game in Wales and Ireland's group with both teams scoring screamers.
