The striker played in Uruguay, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Israel, Brazil, Paraguay and El Salvador before completing his switch to Chile.

Abreu, also known as El Loco, has also represented Uruguay in two World Cups and three Copa America tournaments.

He shot to prominence after his penalty against Ghana in the 2010 World Cup sent his side into their first semi-finals in over 40 years.

After being introduced as a substitute, the striker settled the matter with the coolest of dinks down the middle.
