World Cup winner Kevin Grosskreutz SACKED by Stuttgart after being rushed to hospital with horror head injuries following street brawl
Defender recovering from head injuries looks to be searching for a new club in Bundesliga
WORLD CUP winner Kevin Grosskreutz has been sacked by Stuttgart just days after he was rushed to hospital following a street brawl.
Grosskreutz was left with serious head injuries following an incident where he was set upon on a night out in the German city.
The defender, who was part of the Germany squad that won the World Cup in 2014, bashed his head against a pavement after witnesses claim he was jumped by four youths.
The 28-year-old took a picture of himself bashed up in hospital and posted them on his social accounts to show the extent of his injuries.
But reports from Germany this morning suggest he has now been axed by his club after a two-hour meeting in hospital.
Grosskreutz only joined Stuttgart 12 months ago in a move from Turkish side Galatasaray, and has become an important part of the side in that time.
But there are suggestions he has had run-ins with the club management in the past, and this latest incident may have proved the last straw for Stuttgart.
