Liverpool are reportedly keen on adding the youngster to their ranks, on the recommendation of Mohamed Salah.

Stoke shelled out £5million to Cairo-based Al Ahly for Sobhi in 2016.

The Egyptian international has made 23 appearances this season, scoring three goals and featured in the Potters' 3-0 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday.

Sobhi has won 19 caps for Egypt, scoring once and is under contract at the bet365 Stadium until 2021.

However he hopes his displays in Stoke's remaining games will secure his place in the Pharaohs' squad for Russia - where he can put himself in the shop window.

He told Egyptian TV station MBC Masr: "I hope to be able to perform well for Stoke, so I can be with Egypt at the World Cup.

"Of course everyone is worried about their place in the (national) team.

"I hope we do well at the World Cup - and then I can start thinking about leaving the club."

Sobhi's advisor Nader Shawky cast further doubt over the winger's future in the Potteries.

He told a Cairo radio station: "I have four offers from Premier League clubs for Ramadan, but the offers have not reached Stoke City yet.

"So far it is not yet clear if Stoke will remain in the Premier League or not. We will see what happens.

"I will sit down with them (club officials) in May."

Shawky recently said he would ask Stoke why Sobhi started so few games - claiming the winger is "technically and physically fit."
