Juventus star Blaise Matuidi has won more games than any other player in 2018

BLAISE MATUIDI may just be football's lucky charm.

The Juventus midfielder was involved in more wins than any other player last year with 48 for club and country.

Matuidi, 31, lifted three major trophies last season that started with the Coppa Italia.

He then won the Serie A title with the Italian side before jetting off to the World Cup with France.

Matuidi was a key member of Les Bleus that went onto win football's most prestigious trophy after sinking Croatia in the final.

The former Paris Saint-Germain man played 46 times for Juve last season in all competitions before jetting off to Russia.

And Matuidi will be hoping he continues his own personal fine form when Juve return to action following the winter break against Bologna on Saturday.

The second most successful player in 2018 was Antoine Griezmann and Angel Di Maria with 45.

Liverpool's Roberto Firmino was joint third alongside Ivan Rakitic with 44.
