Uruguay World Cup 2018 squad: Gaston Ramirez misses out as Oscar Tabarez names his final 23-man squad

Nicolas Lodeiro and Fede Valverde are also cut from the list as the South Americans plot a title bid in Russia

URUGUAY have named their final 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia.

Oscar Tabarez has dropped Gaston Ramirez, Nicolas Lodeiro and Fede Valverde from the final group who will contest Group A with Russia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Of the side, eleven players featured four years ago in Rio where Uruguay reached the round of 16.
