Panama defender Roman Torres reveals his added motivation for stopping Harry Kane and England
The Seattle Sounders defender is hoping an impressive World Cup could earn him a move to the Premier League
PANAMA hero Roman Torres plans to hand England a World Cup shock - to land himself a belated move to the Premier League.
The national captain's goal against Costa Rica last November sent his country to their first-ever finals.
The central Americans are due to face the Three Lions in Nizhny Novgorod next Sunday.
And Seattle Sounders centre-back Torres, 32, said: "A good World Cup could help me win a move to Europe.
"I have had interest from England in the past. Blackpool and Swansea were after me in 2010.
"Then I had a trial with Nottingham Forest in early 2012. Only a disagreement over personal terms prevented a deal.
"Now I want to have a good World Cup with Panama - and then we will see what the future holds for me.
"I have an important job ahead of me in stopping players like Harry Kane at the finals. I have prepared myself well.
"Concentration will be the key for me, as they are constantly on the move and very dangerous in the penalty box.
"But they will have to respect my area.

"They may well be skilful and strong - but I am ready for them.
"We are in a very good group. It was important for Panama to meet a number of strong opponents who play good football.
"And that is exactly what we have got with England, Belgium and Tunisia."
