NORDIN AMRABAT described VAR as "bull***t" live on television after a late review cost Morocco a famous World Cup win over Spain.

Watford's winger made his feelings clear to the camera in the moments after Iago Aspas' flick was reinstated to earn the European giants a 2-2 draw.

Amrabat made the video assistant referee signal with his fingers and then said: "VAR, it's bull***t."

While BBC pundit Alan Shearer called the system "b******s" after a separate incident in Iran's draw with Portugal..

Amrabat, 31, winger was enraged after Spain were awarded a late goal that see Morocco go out of the tournament as bottom team in Group B.

Aspas' late goal was initially ruled out for offside but referee Ravshan Irmatov's overturned the decision after watching replays.

VAR was the subject of debate in both games on Monday evening.

Cristiano Ronaldo survived a television review for a red card after catching Iran's Morteza Pouraliganji, only being given a yellow card.

Ronaldo was involved in an earlier VAR incident when Portugal were awarded a penalty after a video referee review, which the Real Madrid man missed.

Iran was also awarded a contentious spot-kick after the VAR judged Portugal defender Cedric Soares to have deliberately handled the ball in the area.
