Beasley started all four of the United States' games at the 2014 World Cup.

After a long career with the United States men's national team, 32-year-old DaMarcus Beasley announced his retirement from international soccer with a post on his Instagram account.

Beasley made his national team debut in 2001 at the age of 18 and earned 121 caps since, scoring 17 goals. He is the only American player to ever play in four World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014) and started all four matches at left back this summer in Brazil.

Currently with the Houston Dynamo, Beasley has been one of the most successful Americans to play in Europe.

Beasley won two Dutch league titles with PSV and two Scottish titles with Rangers, holding the record for most Champions League goals for an American. He also spent time with Manchester City and Hannover.
