David Eick, co-creator of the new Battlestar Galactica, has cast the lead role in his upcoming NBC series Bionic Woman. Our new bionic lady will be played by a young Brit named Michelle Ryan, known mostly for her ongoing role as Zoe in the BBC series EastEnders. I rather like the idea of a British bionic babe, but I'm guessing she'll be told to hide her accent. Her character is supposed to be an ultra-smart, retired tennis star whose bionic implants cost about $50 million (note the inflation: Lindsay Wagner's implants only cost about $6 million). Which is more believable? A smart retired tennis star, or bionic implants? You be the judge this fall when the show debuts.

Now if only they'd tell us who will be playing Max the bionic dog. Or maybe they could make it a bionic cat this time? That would rule.
